(Selections include white chocolate and sour cherry french toast, crab Benedict, a lobster cobb salad, champagne gazpacho and grilled chocolate pound cake).

It’s a scientific fact that Mom will love dining out this Mother’s Day!

According to the National Restaurant Association, 51 percent of Mothers say they enjoy celebrating with family and friends at a restaurant on Mother’s Day because they do most of the cooking at home and dining out gives them a break. Twenty-seven percent like to dine out for Mother’s Day because a restaurant is a great place to socialize with family and friends. Sixteen percent of Moms surveyed say that sharing a meal at a restaurant creates lasting memories that other gifts can’t. Six percent of Moms are “foodies” who enjoy visiting restaurants for any occasion.

Our unique art, fresh modern architecture,  sleek colorful bar and contemporary comfort cuisine is a treat for Mom’s eyes and palate. Our gorgeous space in the heart of DC is central to Downtown, Dupont Circle,Georgetown, the Foggy Bottom Metro and the rest of NW Washington DC.

People Are Talking: Private Parties at Hudson a Hit!

People Are Talking!

Bride Liz told why Hudson was her pick for an intimate rehearsal dinner and welcome party for her guests:

“We actually looked pretty extensively for a location, and ended up choosing Hudson because of its proximity to the hotel we chose for our guests (Mayflower Hotel) and because it was easy for our grandparents to get to (being on the first floor with no stairs). We also felt that the manager went out of his way to accommodate our party and make sure that the evening was special for us, while staying within our budget.”

BitchesWhoBrunch say: “there’s this gorgeous little back room with plum walls and floral art that is just asking for a girls’ birthday dinner party.”

Our attractive space is a hit for meetings, private dining, private parties, rehearsal dinners, family reunions, corporate events, fundraisers, holiday parties and wedding receptions. Learn more on our Private Events page.

If you are considering a fundraiser, Hudson is ready to assist. Proprietor Alan Popovsky has recently been recognized in the Washington Post for his philanthropic contribution as a restaurant owner, and our entire team is expert at hosting a successful fundraising event.

Our unique space in the heart of DC is central to Downtown, Dupont Circle,Georgetown, and Foggy Bottom. Our fresh modern space, original art, sleek colorful bar and contemporary comfort cuisine will make your next party something to talk about.

When choosing space for your private party, bride Liz’s advice is:

“choose a place that is willing to accomodate both your needs and your budget, with a responsive and attentive manager or event coordinator. The rehearsal dinner sets the tone for the weekend, so choose a restaurant with an accomodating staff helps ensure that everything will be perfect, without you having to worry or do extra work. It’s the day before your big day — you have enough to worry about!”

Join us this Sunday for Brunch on the Patio

It’s supposed to be a beautiful weekend – and our patio is open!

No matter the weather, plan to join us at Hudson this Sunday for the best brunch in DC.

Since we are convenient to the Foggy Bottom Metro, Georgetown and the rest of NW Washington DC, one of our patrons had an idea: bike to Hudson for brunch. According to Becca at Bitches Who Brunch, biking to brunch allows one to 1) save the Metro or car ride; 2) get some exercise; and 3) “accomplish something on a Sunday besides polishing off pitchers of mimosas and falling back into bed.” Their route covered the Memorial Bridge, but there are many scenic bike rides you could follow before or après brunch.

Or, why not start or end a day of shopping in Georgetown with Sunday brunch at Hudson?

However you decide to travel, seating is available inside or out, and our brunch menu is available from 10am to 3pm. Be sure to bring friends, come with the girls, get together with family, or introduce your out-of-town guests to our trendy location in Washington, DC’s West End this Sunday.

Celebrate Passover at Hudson

This year, Passover starts Saturday April 7, 2012. Hudson will continue our tradition of offering a Passover menu available Friday, April 6th and Saturday, April  7th, including Hudson owner Alan Popovsky’s mother’s own recipe for matzah ball soup.

According to the, proprietor Alan Popovsky “started a craze in 1998” when he introduced his Mom’s recipes for matzah ball soup and brisket at DC’s Felix.

Now a proprietor at Hudson, Popovsky continues the tradition with potato latkes, house made Gelfite fish, and chopped liver for Passover. Many certified kosher establishments close for the holiday, but Hudson invites you to join us for both traditional fare and some eclectic dishes. Main courses include roast half chicken, braised brisket, roast leg of lamb, and grilled Atlantic salmon.

Even if you don’t celebrate Passover, join us to sample delicious traditional cuisine and partake in a centuries old tradition. Make your reservation today via OpenTable, and a joyous festival to you this year.
